Privacy Policy

Who we are

SkillSprouts is made by S24DeFi LLC ("we," "us"). This policy covers the SkillSprouts iOS app and the SkillSprouts website.

What the app stores

To work, SkillSprouts stores the information you enter — parent and child first names (or nicknames), 4-digit PINs, chosen avatars, the skills you track, and progress on those skills. All of it is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

What we collect

Nothing. The app includes no analytics, no crash reporting SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no cookies, and no third-party services. With Family Sync off, the app makes no network requests at all. With Family Sync on, the only thing transmitted is an encrypted blob we cannot decrypt (see below). Under Apple's App Privacy definitions, SkillSprouts is classified as "Data Not Collected."

Family Sync

Family Sync is optional and off by default. When a parent turns it on, the family gets a secret Family Code that never leaves your devices. Everything is encrypted on your phone (AES-256) using a key derived from that code, and only the encrypted result is stored on our server so your other devices can pick it up. We hold no keys: we cannot read your family's names, PINs, skills, or progress — we only see unreadable ciphertext and a random-looking storage address. Turning sync off stops all transmission; to have your encrypted copy deleted from the server, use the app's reset or email us.

An honest note on Village logins (cheerleaders and day passes): everyone you invite joins the same family circle and the same encrypted record — there is one Family Code and one encryption key per family. What each role can see and do is enforced by the app on the device, not by separate encryption keys, so only invite grown-ups you trust. Removing someone in Settings takes effect on all synced devices.

Children's privacy

SkillSprouts is designed for families with children. Because the app collects and transmits nothing, no personal information about your child is ever shared with us or anyone else. Child profiles exist only on your device, are created and controlled by a parent, and can be erased by a parent at any time. We suggest using first names or nicknames for child profiles.

Deleting your data

You're in full control. To erase everything, log in as the parent and use Settings → Reset All Data, or simply delete the app — either removes all family data permanently. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

TestFlight beta

If you install a beta version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash logs and feedback you choose to submit with us, as described in Apple's privacy policy. That data comes from Apple's beta program, not from the app itself.

The website

Our website is a static page. It uses no cookies and no analytics. Fonts on the website are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers (the app itself does not do this — its fonts are bundled).

Changes to this policy

If a future version of SkillSprouts adds features that change how data is handled — for example, optional family sync across devices — we will update this policy first and explain exactly what changes, and syncing will always be opt-in.
